The training for the profession of airline pilot "integrated training" consists of a theoretical phase covering the 14 modules of the ATPL (Air Transport Pilot License) and a practical phase of 205 flight hours on simulators, single-engine and twin-engine aircraft provided by the AFA. This training takes on average 24 months.
The training is offered in French or English. The professional pilot training program CPL (A) is compliant with the Tunisian regulations in force regarding the conditions for issuing the professional pilot license CPL (A).
Theoretical Training: 560 hours of theoretical courses for the integrated training, or 410 hours of courses for modular training (holding a valid PPL license).
Practical Training: 150 flight hours minimum, including 5 hours on a certified flight simulator.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must hold a valid Class 1 medical fitness certificate issued by an approved medical center (CEMEDA)
- Must have a baccalaureate in mathematics, experimental sciences, or technical fields, or an equivalent foreign diploma
- Must have an acceptable level of French and English, judged by a language test or interview by the Airline Flight Academy
- If a trainee wishes to pursue practical CPL (A) training, they must hold or be in the process of completing the theoretical certificate for the CPL (A) license or the ATPL (A) theoretical certificate in valid status or in theory training
- Must have signed a commitment confirming knowledge of the conditions for accessing various pilot training programs.
Training Program
Theoretical Training:
The theoretical training program for obtaining the theoretical aptitude certificate for the CPL (A) professional pilot license covers the following subjects:
- Air law and air traffic control procedures;
- General knowledge of aircraft: Airframes, systems, engines; Instruments
- Flight preparation and performance: Weight and balance, performance preparation and flight monitoring
- Human performance
- Meteorology
- Navigation: General navigation, radio navigation
- Operational procedures
- Principles of flight
- Communications
Practical Training:
- 125 hours on single-engine aircraft
- 5 VSV (Visual Flight Rules) hours
- 20 hours on twin-engine aircraft, including 5 VDN (Night flying hours)
